You may have heard about it before or this may be the first time you are hearing about it but you may want to consider a first look. A first look is when a couple chooses to see each other prior to the wedding ceremony. At this time your photographer (me!) will set up a moment at a well lit location and then lets the magic happen as you see each other for the first time dressed for your wedding day!

There are 3 key reasons why First Looks are a must for your special day.

  1. Most people prefer to not do a first look because they feel it won’t be as emotional or traditional as if they waited for the ceremony. The truth is that you are more likely to let your emotions go in a more intimate setting than with all of you wedding guests watching. With a first look, it’s just the two of you enjoying a moment together.
  2. Because first looks are done 1-2 hours prior to the ceremony, it gives you time to knock out all of the portraits before the ceremony. You will have a relaxed bride and groom session in addition to your bridal party pictures. This makes things so much less stressful on the rest of the day!
  3. Since you have your bride and groom pictures taken before hand, after the ceremony we will only have to take your family pictures, these take 15-20 minutes depending on the size of your family . After that you will be free to enjoy your cocktail hour or take a break with your new spouse.
